"Took my daughter here yesterday to fix her hair. It had gotten bad because we had gone through some issues that prevented us getting it done. It was really bad knotted to the point it was nearly one big dred knot. We had went to one salon out in Suitland closer to home to get it detangled but they were very aggressive with her hair and didn't do it 100%. They got it out of the dred knot but it was still too puffy because they didn't do a proper blow out so that I could do anything with her hair to keep it from knotting up again. So after being picked up from school I had her brought down here because I work in the AutoZone next door so they can finish the job while I was at work next door and could check up on her. Provided are before and after pictures. They took care to properly wash, deep condition, blow out, trim, and did the 3 basic braids I asked for in a stylish way even tho they were just to keep her hair from tangling again while her head has a chance to rest from all the tangles before getting her box braids back she likes. Even left a bit of the front out and curled it at my daughter's request. They didn't hesitate to take care of her and take on a task that some stylist try to avoid getting involved with. I used to take her to a place out in Fairfax but will switch to this place now. Not only because it's more convenient for me but because they were so helpful and took care of my daughter's needs and most of all actually listened. Her hair is much softer now. It cost me $95 plus tip, cause there was no way I wasn't gonna leave one, and it was as a walk in. Made an appointment for next month to get her box braids done. The 2 landscape pictures were how I had to send her to school because the job had not been done completely at the first salon. The middle portrait picture where her hand is over her mouth is when she finally looked to see it straighten from the blow out. That was joy on her face because it's been so long since her hair was down like that she didn't realize how long her hair had gotten. She was so happy with the results."

"Charniece laid my natural THICK hair out with a beautiful silk press. asked for a trim and she did just that without butchering my hair! I am VERY pleased. hair feels light as if I just got a perm. AND she accommodated me last minute. DON'T sleep on the young sista. She is TRULY talented!"

"I came to this shop on a whim as I have my own loctician I go to and will start by saying that I am not happy with this place at all. I came in and asked for barrel twists for my locs and was told that would cost $75. So far, no issues and the lady was able to take my walk-in an hour later. Once she finished, I was shown my hair and noticed that she only did a retwist and NOT the barrel twists. I paid for the appt and even tipped her $10 as I believe a good job, may it be the wrong one, deserves a good tip. That being said, here is where the problem is. I didn't come in with the intention of a retwist. I wanted and paid for my hair to be styled for court the next day and that wasn't done. She then offered to finish my hair if I came in the following Tuesday. Five days later. I had the thought of coming back said Tuesday for her to finish doing what I paid for five days prior but honestly, I don't appreciate paying for a style and getting something else and worse, told to come days later. So I didn't go back and won't be going back again. Out of all the appts Ive had for my hair, this is the first time and first salon that had done this to me. To anyone who has locs especially, I'd steer far away from this salon. The women are nice no doubt, but the business I encountered was the worst I've experienced at any salon. To the salon, please do better. Me being a first time guest and paying a total $85 for a simple retwist has rubbed me the wrong way as it would anyone who has locs. I usually retwist myself for this exact reason and decided to try a new salon but was quickly reminded why trying new things with your hair isn't always the best decision. Learn from my review and take your hard earned money elsewhere. Their is more than 8 other salons on Richmond Highway and more so, an even better salon right down the street from this place that I've NEVER had an issue with. ps -- If the salon reads their reviews and see this, i'm always welcome to update this and the star count but ONLY if things are made right. I don't appreciate paying $85 for a simple retwist I could have done myself."
