Coastal Broadway Collaborative
Coastal Broadway Collaborative, located at 254 Granby Street in Norfolk, Virginia, is proud to present its 2024 Musical Theatre Intensive in collaboration with Virginia Musical Theatre and The Governor's School for the Arts. This three-week intensive program is designed for aspiring theater and musical theater performers aged 10-18, offering a unique blend of pre-professional training by industry professionals and visiting guest artists. The 2024 Musical Theatre Intensive will take place from July 22nd to August 9th, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Students will participate in core classes in acting, singing, and dancing, as well as master classes in various disciplines such as college auditions, song interpretation, and the business of theater. The program culminates in a revue-style production to showcase the students' talents and hard work.
The FAB: Craft and Material Studies
The FAB: Craft and Material Studies, located at 1000 West Broad Street in Richmond, Virginia, offers a unique educational experience for VCUarts students. With a focus on deep transferable technical skills and conceptual development, students in the Craft/Material Studies department have the opportunity to explore five main areas of study: glass, fiber, clay, metal, and wood. Through hands-on learning that incorporates ancient processes and new modes of thinking, students create work that ranges from functional design to conceptual pieces that challenge contemporary culture. Communication skills are also emphasized, with students refining their abilities through writing, presenting, and discussing their work with diverse audiences.
