The VORTEX
β ClosedThe VORTEX is a vibrant institution located at 2307 Manor Road in Austin, Texas, United States. Currently, they are presenting the commissioned world premiere of The Black Feminist Guide to the Human Body, a powerful choreopoem by award-winning playwright Lisa B. Thompson. This show will run from April 12 to May 4, 2024, with opening weekend as part of the Fusebox Festival. The VORTEX also offers a bilingual adaptation of a beloved picture book, featuring puppetry and Colombian music. Teens aged 13-17 can audition for the youth ensemble to perform Thrive, Or What You Will, a new play by LM Feldman. The institution is currently seeking performance and technical theatre artists for their upcoming 36th Season. Donations to The VORTEX are tax-deductible and support fearless live performance art. All ticket sales are final, but exchanges are available for a $3 fee. The VORTEX is a proud affiliate of ATX Theatre, Austin's hub for live theatre.
