Keneteso Park
Keneteso Park is the newest addition to the City of Gainesville, located at 1800 South Weaver Street in Texas, United States. This community park / special purpose park spans across 84 acres and was established in 1998. The park features 12 semi-automated irrigated soccer fields, two drinking fountains, six portable toilets, and a 450-space parking lot. With the support of a $55,000 grant for a gray water irrigation system, Gainesville's Public Works department was able to clear, level, and seed 45 acres of the park. Keneteso Park is a popular destination for two soccer associations with a total of 2000 athletes using the facilities in the spring and fall seasons. One of the unique features of the park is a two-acre pond that offers public fishing opportunities, along with an annual Kid Fish Fest organized by the Parks & Recreation Department and sponsored by local businesses every January.
