"STAY AWAY - This could be a lovely complex in an excellent location. Sadly, management is lacking basic business skills. There is no security patrol; there is no gated access. The pool opened in July and closed in September. Plumbing issues that were blamed on me even after talking to neighbors about the issue being present long before I moved in. It took four days to remove dog feces from the hallway and what looked like human feces in the stairwell. If the staff doesn't care, why should the tenants? Homeless people hang out in the hallways. My car was towed for being parked over the line after less than 8 hours after lines were painted unannounced after 5:30 pm (separate review for that). A vehicle has been parked in the exact location with the line painted for over a week. They will likely respond to this by saying to stop by the office and provide the phone number, but I have emailed, called, and been by already, so it is pointless. My car was broken into with 11 others last week, so they told the news(not the tenants) that they would have the controlled access gates fixed by April or May. I promise if you move here, you will leave angry as the controlled access, security patrols and other amenities do not exist. Most importantly the staff seems unwilling to communicate any updates or changes. It is my hope that they realize this and begin to communicate to the people that make it possible for them to be there. There have been changes to local management and the management company but the same issues still exist."
"One week of living here and my truck got broken into. From what the neighbors have told me the security gates have been broken for years. While speaking to the police they informed me that they are there every other week for other vehicles being broken into. The leasing office doesn’t disclose this when you’re signing the lease. I don’t feel safe. The doors to get into the buildings are unlocked for anyone to enter. They made it seem like it was a priority to fix them but evidently it’s not. Wish I could give no stars."
"Lack of lighting brings car mild vehicle vandalism (broken window, attempted ignition start to car theft, property theft etc) according to management. If management could guarantee 6 month free vehicle damage, it would be a 5 star. It just lacks knowledgeable site management. Today, 12-07-2023, Truconnect company came into our unsecured complex to provide us free phones. No soliciting is allowed but there is is no one to complain."
"Bad complex with staff who don't care one bit about safety or any tenants concerns. Maintenance requests do not get filled, they close community amenities that you PAY (monthly) for randomly, none of the staff pick up the office phone. the only way you get in contact with them is to be literally yelled at by the office manager for not having any patience after waiting months for things to get fixed. Not to mention the car break-ins in the garage, its insane the amount of SAPD we get, and they still refuse to fix the gates (2 YEARS) or put in any cameras in the parking garage thats open ALL night in the heart of Downtown...i mean come on, how ignorant do you have to be to not know what gonna happen... If you want safe, quiet and smooth complex where you don't have to question where your rent money is going and your own complex managers basic human morals, Hemisview Village is not the place to live."
"So I have been in this complex about 5 months now. This morning my personal vehicle was towed for taking up 2 parking spaces. Now since I have been here there have not been lines in the parking garage to know where a parking space is and is not. Apparently, last night sometime between 5:38 pm (time I got home from work) and this morning at 5:46 am (time I walked out the door to go to work) partial lines were put down in the parking garage. Fortunately, I was only a few minutes late to work and I sent an email to the staff which has gone unanswered to this point. Called the office and the phone was not answered. Called the regional management team and have not heard back yet. Now I need to go to tow company to pickup my vehicle that should not have been towed in the first place and pay $225 to recover my vehicle. I'm not sure what type of relationship is going on between Hemisview Village and Big State Wreckers but it seems less than legitimate if a tow truck driver is the sole decision maker to determine if a vehicle should be towed. Never-mind the fact that I pay $40/month for a 2nd parking pass and that vehicle was not there last night. Either way based off past reviews this message will be responded to before my emails or phone messages will be. Be careful if you are thinking about moving here. Most of the residents seem like decent people but the staff is less than adequate and they don't really take care of the grounds well. Pool did not open until Independence Day weekend. Controlled access doors and gates have not worked since I have been there 5 months and the reasoning I got was because of the power failing during the winter storm in February of 2021 (this happened 28 months ago). I do not have a key fob to access the workout facilities. When it rains you will occasionally have to run off transients that come in because everything is open and accessible but they are harmless they are just trying to stay dry. I moved to San Antonio for work a little under 2 years ago and really like the location of these apartments but that is not enough. This management is ruining what could be a beautiful location in the perfect area. Also, they don't advertise it but they have different rates for residents. Some pay full price $1500-$1600 for a 2 bedroom plus a portion of the water and trash bill but others are on a tax credit program that gives them cheaper rent I'm not sure how that program works but it is probably though the housing authority. I included pictures of the "lines" that were put on the spaces after I arrived home. Notice there is one line that is further back than the others. This is because they painted the line behind my truck. Just be sure to think before moving to this complex if any of these things are important to you. ***UPDATE*** I hoped I would not be correct but as mentioned in my first paragraph this review would be responded to before my emails or phone messages. I got the, "Thank you for your review. Please feel free to come in and discuss your concerns with the office staff anytime during business hours. Kindly, Hemisview Village Management" for a response. The only ironic part about this is that I went to the office immediately after coming from Big State Wreckers to pay the $232.55 recovery fee to attempt to come to some resolution before even submitting this review. There was even a man in the office while I was there discussing his $169/month rent. Now I just paid $1,590.54 this morning so what kind of position would a person that pays $169/month be in if their vehicle was towed? I believed the partial lines were put in the garage as a preparation to stripe the entire garage. This is something that would normally be done a day or two before hand. But, three days later and it is still just the little partial lines. We will see what happens. If the lines get painted it would at least allow me to feel as if the order of the garage was a priority. If the lines aren't finished I would only be able to think that the little ones are there to support a kickback."
