It is the only nature sanctuary in the heart of the city and is home to the Blue Hole, the source spring of the San Antonio River. Run by the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word, Headwaters Sanctuary is a nonprofit Earth care ministry dedicated to preserving and appreciating the natural world.
