β OpenLive Oak Hillside Disc Golf Course is a beautiful institution located at 7924 Shin Oak Drive in Live Oak, Texas, United States. Established in 1971 from property donated by developer Lloyd Denton, this park serves as a major flood control project and offers a variety of amenities for visitors to enjoy. The park area was petitioned to become a Texas Historical Site in 1979 due to an old Indian Camp Site located within the park, with records of an archaeological dig still available in the city's archives. Spanning approximately 75 acres, Live Oak Hillside Disc Golf Course features a football field, basketball court, skate spot, three baseball fields, multiple playscapes, and of course, a disc golf course. A 2014 bond project added lights to all ball fields and a trail that circles the lake, providing a nearly 2-mile path for visitors to enjoy. The playground areas are equipped with state-of-the-art astroturf and surrounded by a fence for added safety.
