Urgent Care For Kids - Round Rock

"Last month, I had a great experience. The whole staff was professional and the PA Amelia Willis was very attentive. Even though my son’s vitals seemed “normal” she still tested him for flu, strep, rsv and an option for Covid. He ended up with RSV and double ear infection. Unfortunately, I did not feel this last visit with PA Clayton Hodge was an adequate choice for my child’s visit. He was nice, but very dismissive, and claimed my child to just having allergies. I was taken aback when he question why I gave my son Motrin. He only checked one ear bc I said my child possibly had an ear infection (he did). I knew I didn’t trust Mr. Hodge, when he just brushed my son’s physical appearance as “not looking sick”. My child’s eyes were swollen, coughing, and sneezing. Other symptoms were violent coughing triggering vomiting. How are you supposed to tell me he can go back to childcare and it’s normal? Anyways, we went to the doctors and my child ended up with double ear infection and upper respiratory infection. We would love to use this urgent care as a convenient way for known symptoms, but after this visit, I will need some time to see if this is a right place for my children. We are highly disappointed and discouraged."

"I will not be coming back. Made an appt for my son to be seen for a severe cough and recurring bloody noses. First, when we arrived, no one was at the front desk. It was a good 30 minutes before someone from the back came to the front. Several people were coming in to get checked in just like us, and not a single person came from the back to see what was going on in the front. Once we were checked in, it took another good hour before we were called and shown to an exam room. The only good thing I have to say is that the medical assistants were very attentive and professional. After they took his vitals and whatnot, we were told there were 3 other patients in front of us and that they only had one provider available. I knew it was going to be a little bit of time before we saw someone, but it took another 1.5hrs before the provider came into the exam room. After everything was set and done and over 3hrs of waiting later, we were told to just give him antihistamines. We left feeling like we accomplished nothing from that visit."

"Look, it’s a good place. But, in 2024 and the world of AI, let’s not pretend there is ZERO way to give a remotely accurate estimate of time to be seen. We arrived today, a room so full there were people outside. The front desk said hopefully less than an hour. Was nearly 3 hours to be seen. It’s just simple respect for time. I know you need profit and stacked waiting lists, but just a little bit of respect goes a long way. Assume 20-30 minutes per child, 15+ children, 2 providers.."

"The front desk receptionist and nurse were very kind. However, the doctor was absolutely terrible. Everything he said about my 4 year old son was not only wrong, but absurd. My son had a rash, fever, cough and ear pain. He said that the rash was from “bugs”. He said the fever was normal and that “some kids just run hot”. He said my sons cough was fine because it was “dry”. And as for his ear pain he said “maybe a bug got in there” or maybe he got some “dirty water from a pool or hot tub” in there… mind you it is February. My son has not been in any pools or hot tubs. He did not prescribe my son any medication and we left with absolutely no resolve. My son could not sleep and cried about his ear pain throughout the night so I took him to a real emergency physician who diagnosed him with an ear infection and an upper respiratory infection which caused the rash, cough, and fever. He is now on antibiotics and getting some relief for his ear pain."

"We use this urgent care any time my son gets sick. The nurse/assistants are so kind and engaging. Layla had incredible patience and took the time to explain everything she was doing so he wasn’t nervous. The doctors we have seen have also been very attentive and thorough, we have never felt rushed in an appointment."
