Center City of Amarillo, Inc.
Center City of Amarillo, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and revitalizing Amarillo's historic downtown area. Established in 1991, Center City is recognized as a Texas and National Main Street City. Our volunteer board of directors works tirelessly to bring people to downtown Amarillo through various initiatives such as organization, events, promotion, design, and economic restructuring. Located at 1000 S. Polk St. in the historic Bivins Building, Center City envisions downtown Amarillo as a vibrant neighborhood that bridges the past and the future. Our calendar of events is filled with exciting activities, including the Senior Banners program, Imagine the Possibilities Tour, High Noon on the Square, Jazztober, and the Electric Light Parade.
San Pedro Creek Culture Park
Located at 715 Camaron Street in San Antonio, Texas, the San Pedro Creek Culture Park is a unique institution that combines art gallery, park, and tourist attraction all in one. As the birthplace of San Antonio, San Pedro Creek has a rich history that spans over 12,000 years. Visitors can explore the park and immerse themselves in the cultural and natural beauty that surrounds them. Featuring works from both local and national artists, the park offers a unique and ever-changing perspective on the vibrant history of San Pedro Creek.
Architecture Building
Located on L.W. Minor Street in Prairie View, Texas, the Architecture Building at Prairie View A&M University is dedicated to preparing students for leadership roles in urban transformation and sustainable design. The School of Architecture program focuses on problem-solving, creative thinking, and decision-making to enhance the built environment. Students are encouraged to develop their skills in a student-centered environment that promotes personal growth and professional excellence. The Architecture Concept Institute (ACI) offers a Summer Bridge Program for students interested in architectural design. Participants can earn 12 credits towards the B.S. Architecture program through a ten-week online study. Qualified students with a 2.9/4.0 GPA may receive free tuition, fees, and a laptop from the University. The program aims to provide a foundation in architecture for high school sophomores and juniors through the Architecture Enrichment Concept (ARTEC) summer program.
