With a special program designed to immerse students in the study of the Ukrainian language with English support, each class has two teachers and a maximum of fifteen students to ensure individualized attention. Students not only learn to converse in Ukrainian, but also to read and write academically in the language. Lessons are project-based, focusing on culturally relevant assignments that use Ukrainian as a means of conveying knowledge. In addition to language skills, students have the opportunity to explore different regions of Ukraine through traditional dance, crafts, and cuisine. The school also proudly supports recent immigrants, adopted children, and exchange students from Ukraine. As part of its educational mission, Ridna Shkola teaches students about the tragic genocide of their ancestors during the Holodomor through lessons in kindness and care for those in need, both historically and in the present day. Donations to Ridna Shkola are tax deductible and contribute to the school's ongoing mission of promoting Ukrainian language and culture in the Houston community.
