“I took the individual accent reduction class with Jane and completed the 25-hour training in June. This class was hands down the best that I’ve taken in my 10-year working career (and I’ve taken a lot of them). The method that Jane used for the training was unique and effective. She took pages of notes from my evaluation session and created a customized plan for me based on the mistakes that I often make. Jane pointed out the correct way to say the sounds, showed me how to pronounce them with great patience, and reminded me over and over again until I was able to say them correctly. Throughout the 6-month training, Jane was always patient with me even though I make the same mistakes repeatedly. She is passionate about her work and always has a professional attitude. Another thing that I liked about the training was the material (textbook) we used. The book that I received when I started my training has about 219 pages. By the time I completed my individual training, my wife had started taking the group class led by Dominique, and the textbook she received has almost 250 pages. In less than six months, Jane expanded the textbook by nearly 15%. This simple fact shows how much effort Jane spent adding valuable content for the students. I bought many accent training books before taking the class, and I can say that Jane’s book is the most thorough and most valuable one. “I am currently studying Spanish with Marcela at World Language Institute and just love it! Marcela is a native Spanish speaker who has been formally trained as an ENGLISH teacher -- so she knows how to teach (and learn) a foreign language! Her approach to teaching Spanish is fun and as intense as you want it to be. She asks me what I want to focus on (because I'm not a beginner) but also inserts her own activities/conversations/learning moments based on what she hears me say (correctly or incorrectly) in her native tongue. Her classes are taught all in Spanish; her schedule is flexible; and her classes are cost effective with all materials provided. I'm taking private lessons but understand Marcela can also do smallish groups. I also want to give a Shout-Out to the Meet-Ups ("The Houston Spanish Language Meetup Group"). They are outstanding! The native-speaking leaders of the Meet-Ups are super great people to hang out with! They structure the Meet Ups just enough to focus our conversation and learning but also go with the flow given the attendees on any given night. Super fun and a great way to speak IN SPANISH (during game night, or picnic Friday, or around specific themes (ex: if you are part of the medical service profession and need to be bi-lingual))! I highly recommend both WLI classes and HSL Meet Ups with Marcela and her team!”

“Audie has done an amazing job making both minor and major repairs to my dock. I went from always been stressed about it to never having to worry about a thing after he and his team finished repairing and now maintaining it. Every time I come out to the lake it is sitting perfectly positioned on the water with everything in top condition. His staff are very qualified welders and specialists in dock work. He’s very fair, communicates well and does what he says when he says it. I have a lot of trust in him doing things right and highly recommend.”
