To reach the WMA, take Hwy 49 toward Charlotte, cross the river, and continue four miles to Hwy 250. Turn left onto Hwy 250 and go four miles to the WMA entrance on your left. The check station is three miles from the entrance, where maps are available. The institution allows hooved animal riding only for individuals with a valid hunting and fishing license, WMA permit, or High Impact Habitat Conservation Permit. Riding is permitted in designated areas only, with horses and ATVs allowed on the main gravel road. Special regulations apply during big game seasons, prohibiting saddle and pack animals.
