Alumni Hall Vanderbilt University
Alumni Hall at Vanderbilt University, located at 23rd Avenue North in Nashville, Tennessee, is a historic institution with a rich architectural significance. Originally opened in 1925, Alumni Hall was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2011. Designed by Nashville architect Henry C. Hibbs, the building represents the Collegiate Gothic style and served as the original student center on Vanderbilt's campus for nearly 50 years. The construction of Alumni Hall was driven by the desire to honor the Vanderbilt men who fought and died in World War I. The Memorial Room on the second floor of the building features the names of the 44 Vanderbilt casualties carved in stone above the fireplace mantles. Over the years, Alumni Hall has served various purposes, from a student center to administrative offices.
