"LGBTQI+ AND ATHIESTS/AGNOSTICS BEWARE! I was looking for a therapist for PTDS and anxiety issues. I spoke with therapist Audrie Nicholson prior to my appointment, explaining that I’m queer and an atheist. I was aware that she is a Christian therapist. I explained that those are the two things in my life that I’m very comfortable with, and that have not contributed to any of my current issues. She assured me that she was able to work with me, that she does use christianity in her own life, but that wouldn’t interfere with my therapy. My first session went well, as it was basically an information gathering session. She told me she’s had gay and trans people in her office. When I left, she said something to the effect of see you next time. I was running about five minutes late for my second session, called Audrie to let her know I’d be a bit late, and she ended the call with “have a blessed day,” Thinking she perhaps forgot that I’m an atheist, during the session I mentioned to her that this made me uncomfortable. She proceeded to defend herself, telling me she says that to everyone. She had not, however, said that to me when I interviewed her on the phone. She simply said bye. During the session, she proceeded to ask me if the fact that I’m queer was an issue for someone in my life. I again reminded her that my being queer isn’t any part of the issues I’m currently trying to resolve. I’ve previously had an excellent therapeutic relationship with a Christian therapist, where my identity and atheism were respected. I expected Audrie to honor my identity, and her word, yet was met with what seemed to be a complete disregard for those boundaries I had set. Also, as someone else had mentioned, I had to call the office a few times, after leaving two messages which weren’t returned, in order to cancel the future appointments I had scheduled I found Audrie and this practice to be unprofessional and unable to work with those whose values don’t align with theirs, in spite of stating otherwise."

"Wife and I both reached out for marriage counseling. My wife tried to reach them twice and no response. I tried calling earlier this week and no response. We even asked them for just a referral as they are the only marriage counselors in our area... still nothing. Extremely unprofessional. Why be in the business of helping people if you aren't even going to return a simple phone call? I'd stay away from them. Red flags everywhere!"
