"Stopped in for a quick app and drink. I really liked the queso. The bar was very slammed right when I got there so it was a bit of a wait to get to place anything. The bartender ended up comping us the drinks and appetizers. Very great customer service!"

"We came here for New Year’s Eve. Heard great things from a lot of folks locally so we were excited. Our waitress was very attentive the entire time and really took care of us. Service would have been 5-star if not for substantial delays in getting our drinks mid-meal. They acknowledged the issue without us having to complain and comped the round of drinks without asking which was well handled in my opinion. My bigger issue was with the food - not very good! Tacos must be ordered 3 the same in a set so I decided to get fajitas instead. Arrived as a pile of mushy vegetables that didn’t look nor taste very appetizing. A number of folks in our party (including me) had GI issues the next day and we all suspect our dinner. The cucumber margarita I ordered was great in concept but was not balanced - also not very good. Tasted a few other dishes - a salad and some chicken tacos - and was similarly not impressed. Not sure why people love this place so much maybe they had an off night being New Years. Cool atmosphere though."

"Tyler is the most incredible bartender I have come across yet! Not only in Charleston, but out of all the cities I’ve lived in. His warm and friendly demeanor makes you feel comfortable and welcomed from the second you walk through the door. His attentive personality and charming smile will keep you entertained for hours. Beyond that, he has extensive knowledge of the drink and food menu, including how things are made, what goes into them, and how each flavor compliments each other. I have been coming to see him every Sunday now for weeks in a row and ordering the Mango Chile Margarita. I send in friends often to see Tyler. Highly recommend this restaurant and ask for Tyler when you come!"

"Hellooo!!! Visiting from Miami Beach… My dad and I had a great and easy dinner at mayas!!! First of all I would like to thank Mr Taylor for his top notch service at the bar. Friendly, charming, helpful, positive and electric attitude. We found totally the opposite care at darling oyster one night ago (read review please). Guacamole was good. Also were the chicken tacos… plus two coronas… Thanks again for a great service!!!"

"We had an amazing dining experience on our anniversary! We were totally surprised by the welcome from the host with a personalized greeting card signed by many staff. The place has got a beautiful ambience, spacious yet cozy feel, food was delicious, and the service was great! To add to our surprise, our lovely server brought us a complementary entree to make the evening feel even more special. Highly recommended!!"
