“Had a lovely evening here celebrating a birthday. Burgers were fantastic, great choice of wines, and a really interesting looking selection of small sharing plates on offer (though we haven't tried any yet, we're assured by friends that they're great). Admittedly the fries were too salty, but once we pointed it out they agreed and took them off the bill, so that was well handled. They've got a selection of board games to play, and it's a great atmosphere. We'll be back for sure.”

“Has a good selection of beer on tap Huge beer garden out the back, dogs are welcome. Burgers are the speciality and their really nice, at $19 for a big cheeseburger with pickles onion lettuce Tim tomato cheese and a decent piece of meat, makes for a good meal. Sit inside or on the beer garden, both can cater for a 100 or more patrons, watch sport on the wall mounted screens, great music, really nice atmosphere. Rest rooms are out the back and are nice and clean, got a wheel chair or walker for those that have trouble getting around, no problem, as there is a ramp into the place, care for a game of pool, it caters for those who like a game as well. Plenty of parking available.”

“Had a serve of chilli mussels tonight there, was amazing. Probably the best I’ve had since the Cicerello days back when they were good many years ago. The sauce at Russell’s was very tasty, spicy and thick. The mussels were priced well and perfect too. Highly recommended.”

“We played a quick half-round and had a burger and chips as part of a deal, with a half pint of alcoholic drink. The clubhouse is reasonably clean, with good views of the course. Toilets are a bit run down, but generally clean. The staff were very friendly, and offered to fill our water jug, which we picked up from the side, with ice to keep it cool. Generally, a great morning and well worth the money.”

“A true blue Aussie pub with a great atmosphere, very well laid out and well run. We were there on Thursday night for their spin the wheel give aways and had an absolute ball. Happy hour is Monday to Thursday from 4.30pm till 5.30pm. Bulmers cider goes down from $11.50 to $6 a pint during happy hour. On Thursday every purchase from 5pm till 6pm gets a free raffle ticket. Then from 6pm till 7pm, Roger the manager draws as many tickets as he can. You can win all sorts of prizes from a whole cooked roast chicken, to a $100 bottle of spirts from the bottle shop. Only 1 golden egg $100 bottle a night is given away, but lots of drinks, whole chickens, Jagger bombs and bottles of wine given away. I had 4 tickets and won 2 x middys, which I turned into a free pint of Bulmers cider. Very happy. Pub is in a very good location with lots of parking and right across the road from the Maylands train station. Well worth a visit and we enjoyed it so much, we stayed much longer than we had planned. Two really nice pool tables for $2 games of pool and free pool tables all day Sunday. Limited food menu but nice chicken and hamburgers for only $8, which is great value. Allow extra time when you visit, because you won't want to leave.”
