“Beautiful and spacious. With 2 adults and 2 kids under 7 tonight, we ordered: - Kids pizza (very yum according to the young reviewers) - Cheesy garlic and onion bread - Onion rings - Spiced buffalo chicken wings - definitely some kicks here which we like! - The wunderbar platter - packed with all the yummy meat - slow roasted crispy pork belly, BBQ pork ribs, Swedish soft meatballs in creamy sauce (can taste beans in the meatball thus the silky texture), sauerkraut and crunchy chips! We’re not a fan of the braised white cabbage though. You have to be a meat lover to love this place. Initially we wanted to order The Continental Platter but the staff at the counter is so kind to advise us that it’d be too much for us so we ordered the Wunderbar instead. Left with our happy tummies. Will definitely come back again to try their classic knuckle next time!”

“I ordered the chicken parmi, and it came with plenty of chips and a decent salad that wasn't just an afterthought. The chips were great and the parmi was fantastic! Good value for money. You can also BYO and have a nice wine with your meal. My first experience was fantastic, and I'll definitely be back.”

“Went to ostro for valentines day dinner. Meal did not disappoint. Beef was fresh and cooked perfect. Salmon said crispy skin and oh my crispy it was. Staff was welcoming and friendly would recommend hands down”

“Had a 'google find me somewhere nice for lunch' , lunch here the other day and was beyond impressed! We came with tweens who enjoyed the outdoor space and playground as much as any little kid would and they were impressed with the choice of more than just nuggets off the kids menu . We enjoyed the fabulous 'non meat' options and the delicious cocktails to share. The food was above and beyond , absolutely delicious, we had the pepperberry sweet potato and the souffle and will be back again to try the many other things we couldn't decide between.”

“Walking down the foreshore looking dor somewhere different to have lunch and spotted this lil place. We found a table for 6 pretty quickly, wasn't packed. There weren't any menus on our table and no one gave us any so we just went to the bar to order. Pretty average pricing & wait time was approx 20min. Cocktails came first then the food came out altogether. The food was delicious I couldn't fault it! Cocktails galore, so many yummy ones to try! Definitely will be back.”

“Amazing pub! The bar staff are fun and welcoming! Guinness on tap! They pour great pints of Guinness here. I had two of them right after skydiving Rockingham Beach. I had to return to the city and then onward to Cottlesloe, but I really would have liked to spend more time here. Fantastic!”

“Could not believe the size of the kebabs when we got them through Uber eats, they are delicious (I had the doner and my sister the mixed meat) Extremely generous serving and the service amazing, they wrote a little note on the bag which made a lovely personal touch. Definitely my new go to kebab shop now :)”

“Went on a Saturday night and it was a busy night for them with the restaurant areas full. My party of 4 had a great evening and it was a fantastic vibe. The food was great and priced on par with other venues. Service was good and meals came out together for the group. Ladies loved the cocktail range. All in all a very enjoyable evening and with free parking right out front Whistling Kite is well worth a visit.”

“This local tavern is a great place to take the family for a relaxing meal and night out. The food is 9 out of 10 and the price is low to medium. I was impressed by the service, waiters were active, attentive, and obliging. The warm fireplace was a welcome sight on the night we were there. We all had different meals to test the menu, we were all impressed with the portion sizes and quality of food presented. 4 mains, a shared pizza, 3 deserts, 8 drinks, all up $212, pretty good.”
