Nestled in the picturesque landscapes of Western Pennsylvania, the North Country Trail @ Route 18 offers an unparalleled outdoor experience. Managed by the Wampum Chapter of the North Country Trail Association (NCTA), this segment of the North Country National Scenic Trail spans from Zoar, Ohio to the Lawrence/Butler county line east of McConnells Mill State Park, Pennsylvania.Events and Activities: Our calendar is brimming with events hosted and attended by NCTA Chapters, Affiliates, and staff, as well as the National Park Service staff. These events include organized hikes, trail building and maintenance sessions, and community outreach events. We also hold social gatherings such as hot dog roasts and potluck dinners, fostering a sense of community and fellowship among trail enthusiasts.Volunteer and Community Engagement: The Wampum Chapter volunteers are the backbone of our operations, meeting regularly throughout the year. Our chapter planning meetings are held quarterly or as needed, while business meetings take place monthly on the third Monday at 6:30 p.m. (ET), alternating between Lisbon, Ohio, and Wampum, Pennsylvania.Our Commitment:

The floodplain forest along the Connoquenessing Creek is dominated by mature Silver Maples and American Basswood.
