Bushman Farm
Bushman Farm, located in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, is a historic institution once owned by Reverend Michael Bushman and his wife Amelia. The original portions of the house date back to 1808, with a brick addition added in 1860. The farm was deeded to Amelia by her mother, Sophia Hammer, and Reverend Bushman was a well-known minister in the German Baptist Brethren Church. The property was eventually sold to the Gettysburg Battlefield Memorial Association in 1894. This beautiful farm offers stunning views of Big Round Top and Little Round Top, with the Slyder farm visible in the distance. The house has been renovated by the National Park Service and is available for rental, featuring three bedrooms, modern amenities, and a historic smokehouse and barn on the property. The farm played a role in the Battle of Gettysburg, with Hood's division passing through the land in 1863. Today, visitors can experience the history and charm of Bushman Farm while enjoying a peaceful retreat in the Pennsylvania countryside.
