Whitehall Place Apartments

"i have written a review before but unfortunately only one review is allowed so here is my long rant......since i have moved in it has been nothing but straight torture. i saw roaches within the first week of moving in. then had bedbugs a couple months later. (i didnt even know what a roach or bedbug looked like before moving in here).pest control came to treat the bedbugs and it did not work.i had bites all over my body that i was having an allergic reaction to. they make you go through this long process for treatment just for it to be unsuccessful. i then had to spend my own money to treat the bed bugs myself. i had to throw away my couch as well as my bed. now a year later i have bedbugs again, on my brand new bed. im not even gonna waste my time and get pest control just for it to not be treated properly. i again have to spend my own money because the pest control team is useless. this place is disgusting it smells horrible at all hours of the day, i start gagging just walking into the building. then workers will come to do maintenance in the building and leave their messes, the hallway carpets are left a disaster. my rent was just raised after my year lease ended. they charge way too much for what a dump it is. the walls are so thin that i can hear people snoring. people steal packages and mail, its the most annoying thing ever. if i had the money i would move out without a doubt, but i am stuck here with infestations. do not move here, it has been my biggest regret."

"I have lived here going on my 5th year. The location is great. Close to a lot of places and shopping. For the most part is has been okay living here. When I complained about my upstairs neighbors to the leasing office the lady basically told me “you live in an apartment what do you expect?” Was also asked if I called a non emergent police call on my neighbors (you hear EVERYTHING through the ceiling). Even though in the leasing agreement there is a noise policy. I have issues with my bedroom window leaking. Previous maintenance only patched the problem 2 years ago. It was better addressed recently. However it’s has taken over 2 weeks to fix. They have been updating the electrical work in my apartment for more than 6 months. I still have holes in my walls from this and the new outlets do not work yet. I have 2 cats and I had to find my own ways to keep them out of the walls. Rent goes up about $50 or so each year. It’s a good starter apartment but not great for long term. I have 1 counter in my kitchen which makes cooking difficult. It gets very hot in the summer and AC is extra. When things go wrong like a gas leak or a power outage expect it to be fixed in about 3 to 5 days. I have been without gas since Friday its taken so far 5 days to fix so I can’t use my stove, I have no hot water so can’t wash dishes or do laundry. I have considered both legal consultation or reaching out to local news stations. They did offer some financial compensation for the window leaking but the company is more about saving money then about their tenets."
