Recently, we hosted our annual Vacation Bible School on August 5th, 7th, and 9th, 2024, with the theme "Outback Rock: Where Kids Venture into Solid Faith." The week was filled with engaging lessons led by Rev. Dr. Ethelyn Taylor, Rev. Dr. Bernard Downing, and Terrine Datts, focusing on the stories of Joseph and Jesus Christ. Our program also included lively music sessions with Joan Clerk and Terrine Datts, fun games organized by Jayminn DeShields and David Powell, and creative crafts led by Helen Hampton and Myra Houston. The week concluded with a joyful Cook-Out on August 11th, bringing our community together in celebration.

Steeped in rich local history, the Oak Lane Library stands as a testament to the dedication and spirit of the neighborhood's early settlers and their descendants. Our library is more than just a place to borrow books. We offer a range of programs designed to enrich lives and build essential skills. Kids in grades 3 to 8 can engage in hands-on learning activities, such as sewing a button, sending an email, and even doing laundry. We also provide free school supplies and books, and host events where students and families can discover our vast resources.
