The Pennsylvanian Apartments

"Don’t live here. Racheal Nones is back. She got transferred for being rude to residents and taking pictures inside their apartment and retaliating with lease violations when you confront her. Also there are plenty apartments downtown for the same price with actually amenities. This place constantly has homeless people camping outside and loud wedding events down stairs. They make promises of community events they never do and canceled all of the holiday parties for residences. The building also looks like it is falling down. Don’t have them keep your car here because the parking spot has pipes leak on your car and they refuse to fix the door to keep birds out. So you will get bird poop and rust on your car. The units them self are really nice if you get lucky to get one that doesn’t need any maintenance. If it needs maintenance none of them will respect any of your wishes to being informed when they come in your apartment. Even when you check the box in their app you want to be called to schedule time in. I sleep during the day and they would bang on the door multiple times and wiggles their keys on the door and try to force the door open when clearly the dead bolt was locked and I had requested them to call me to come in. I can’t recommend anyone live here when just down the street is way better apartment buildings."

"TLDR: If you don't want strangers to unlock the door and secretly enter your apartment while you are not at home, DON'T MOVE INTO THIS APARTMENT. I am not joking. The management people from Greystar don't give a damn about your privacy and security. What happened: This June, a significant water leak occurred from the bathroom ceiling, so I submitted a service ticket to the management company. About three days later, around midnight, a janitor knocked on my door for repairs. It seemed that the issue was with the air conditioner, so he only sealed the leakage with tape and left without fixing the water-damaged ceiling and wallpaper. At this point, I thought it's very inappropriate for them to come for repairs at midnight, but since the water leak had stopped, I didn't complain. The service ticket was then left untouched for over a month. One day, I got home from work and noticed that some of my stuff in my apartment had been moved from their original places. It was very creepy, so the next day, I went to the management office to ask about it, and I found out that one of the staff had unlocked the door and entered my apartment while I was at work and repaired the air conditioner. Of course, there was no prior notice, nor was there any follow-up communication about the repair. The fact that they had secretly entered my apartment without my consensus was very disgusting and upsetting, so I expressed my concern about privacy and security, and they said that this would never happen again. Then, they closed the service ticket even though they hadn't actually repaired the damaged ceiling and wallpaper this time either. About two months later, I received a review request regarding the handling of the service ticket from Kingsley Associates, the parent company of Greystar. So I submitted a complaint about how the management staff had entered my apartment without permission and the service ticket had been closed without fixing the damaged ceiling and wallpaper. A few days after that, as I am writing this now, I got home from work and couldn't believe my eyes. I discovered numerous unfamiliar footprints, and the repaired ceiling and wallpaper in the bathroom. Of course, there was no prior or post notice about entering my apartment. I didn't even submit a service ticket this time. In what kind of apartment, do I have to constantly worry about someone unlocking the door and being in my place without me knowing? This is purely absurd. I'll say it again: If you don't want some strangers to unlock the door and freely enter your apartment while you're not at home, DO NOT RENT THIS APARTMENT. If you do choose to move in here, be sure to log off from your computer, hide your personal belongings and confidential information, and take any precautions before going outside to ensure that strangers entering your apartment won't cause any problems for you. Update: Apparently, the janitor who entered my apartment last time is Thomas."

"So far, one of my favorite places to stay. I basically travel for a living so going from hotel to hotel in busy cities, this was refreshing. It was like having your own single room apartment with every appliance you would ever need. Nothing too fancy but nice enough to be in an advertised catalog. Clean and modern. There is a lot of information that needs to be dealt with before staying here, but I think it's worth it. The people who helped me were way too nice and quite helpful if I ever had a concern and needed something. I stayed at this location for about two weeks or so. There is long term parking for permanent residents but plenty of parking for those who are temporary. And of course you would have to pay a fee to park. Parking isn't too terrible and I feel safe enough to store it on the premises. Very lovely place and I hope to stay there again if I'm back in town."

"The Pennsylvanian is a beautiful historical building. It’s right downtown and so conveniently close to many things- which is the only perk to living here. I’m going to keep this short. The management and staff truly are scammers and incredibly rude. For the one year I lived there, I didn’t get any of my deposit back, they robbed me from utilities and rent. When I had emailed them about not renewing my lease, i was charged an additional $500 for not telling them “soon enough” according to them. Approaching my last month, I went down to speak with staff about my billing, and they came up with awful excuses as to why I was being charged so much and not getting my deposit back. I truly loved my apartment and living in the heart of Pittsburgh, but unfortunately this place is a joke. Save your money!"

"Beautiful historic building. Apartments are very clean and well appointed. Some are rentals and some house permanent residents. We rented an apartment for coming to a wedding. It was a one bedroom, beautiful modern kitchen, living room and bathroom. It was very clean and comfortable. The management of the rental stayed in touch in case we needed anything. We would definitely stay here again. There's a wonderful fitness center. Walking distance to a lot of downtown."
