West Mead #1 VFC Alden Station
Welcome to West Mead #1 Volunteer Fire Company (VFC) Alden Station, your dedicated local fire station serving the community of West Mead Township and the surrounding areas. Located at 20914 Alden Street in Meadville, Pennsylvania, we are committed to protecting the lives and property of our residents through prompt and professional emergency response services.Our Mission:At West Mead #1 VFC, our mission is to provide exceptional fire protection, rescue operations, and emergency services to ensure the safety and well-being of our community. Our team of dedicated firefighters and volunteers work tirelessly around the clock to respond to emergencies, including fires, rescues, and storm damage incidents.Current Projects:We are currently raising funds to purchase essential equipment to outfit our new 2,500-gallon pumper, which will replace our 30-year-old engine 28-11. The new pumper is expected to arrive in December 2024, and while some equipment from our older engine can be reassigned, additional new equipment is needed to ensure the new engine is fully operational. We have been utilizing community donations and state grant funds to support this project, and we need your help to complete it. Your contributions will significantly enhance our effectiveness in serving West Mead Township and beyond.Community Involvement:- On December 15th, our team responded to an animal rescue call at Tamarack Lake, working alongside Vernon Central, Meadville Fire, West Mead #1 and #2, PA Game Commission, PA State Police, and STAT Medevac to rescue a dog and a hunter who suffered a cardiac arrest. - Recently, we collaborated with Vernon Central Hose and Cochranton Volunteer Fire Dept & Emergency Service to address a reported structure fire. - Our firefighters also assisted Meadville Central with a structure fire at a single-family residence on Pine Street.
