The floodplain forest along the Connoquenessing Creek is dominated by mature Silver Maples and American Basswood. This area boasts a rich, moist soil that supports a diverse array of herbaceous species, including Virginia Bluebells, May Apples, Large White Trilliums, and various violets. Birdwatchers can often spot kingfishers, Northern Rough-Winged Swallows, and Great Blue Herons patrolling the creek waters.Adjacent to the floodplain, the Mesic Central forest community thrives on the steep wooded slopes. This mature forest is home to Red Oak, White Oak, American Basswood, Tulip Tree, and Sugar Maple, with a notable grove of Chestnut Oak in the upland areas.Recreational Opportunities:
