The IUP University Museum, located at 1011 South Street in Indiana, Pennsylvania, is a vibrant institution showcasing a diverse range of artwork. The museum is currently featuring the exhibit "Six in an Open Field," which highlights the work of Pittsburgh-based artists who come together through ongoing dialogue and collaboration. Visitors can explore pieces from the museum's permanent collection, including works created during the Depression-era Works Progress Administration. Additionally, the museum is hosting an exhibit of paintings, drawings, and mixed-media works by Ivan Fortushniak, a professor in the IUP Department of Art and Design. The museum's mission is to bring together the material history and arts of the region in an environment that encourages exploration, dialogue, and enjoyment. In addition to its permanent exhibit space in John Sutton Hall, the museum offers smaller exhibits throughout the campus and community.
