With a rich history rooted in Greek heritage, our story began when our parents, Bill and Kelly, emigrated from Greece in the 1970s. They worked tirelessly at Pappan's Family Restaurants and later owned and successfully operated Main Street Diner for over 20 years. Inspired by our grandparents, Aikaterina and Theodoros (the namesake of Theo’s!), who also worked hard at Coney Island in New Castle, we learned the values of family, work ethic, honesty, and love. Chartered in 1938, we are a non-profit, tax-exempt, charitable 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to educating the public through our extensive collections and engaging exhibits.Exhibitions and Tours: One of our notable exhibitions is "Ulster to the Alleghenies: A Scots-Irish Immigration Story," which delves into the compelling narrative of Scots-Irish immigrants and their journey to Pennsylvania. This exhibit will be available for viewing starting August 26, 2024.Visitors can also take a guided tour of our beautifully preserved 1904-05 Edwardian-style Colonial Revival Residence, originally built for George and Alice White Greer. Tours are available by reservation only on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 1 pm.Special Displays: Our Maryann Galiano Room on the second floor is home to a newly assembled collection of Shenango China.
