"Allied is the best of the best! We’ve moved several times over the years both interstate and intrastate. This move from PA to VA was our best experience yet, and we’d only consider Allied going forward. Every person we worked with was professional, friendly, and responsive. Donna, our move coordinator, was always quick to answer any questions and we felt confident with Rick on load day and delivery day. Additionally, we paid for a few of our items to be packed, and everything was packed with great care. An all around fantastic company and wonderful move!"
"Allied Van Lines was professional from the start. I contacted and researched several different types of moving options, including third party brokers and storage container companies. Other companies had me fill out my own inventory form, whereas Allied Van Lines actually filled out the inventory with me. (I was offered a virtual or in-person option and I chose virtual.) It was quick and easy, but because my items were reviewed by a moving professional, my inventory and quote were incredibly accurate. I didn’t end up paying any more than I was quoted since I had almost as many boxes and items to send as the gentleman estimated. The price was fair. It was a little more than I wanted to pay, but it was on the lower end of all the quotes I had received. My items were expedited, and everything arrived in perfect condition. I did my own packing, but they loaded, shipped, and unloaded everything for me. When unloading, they had me check off the number for each box so that I knew all boxes were there. When I move again, I’ll definitely be choosing Allied."
"Our experience with Allied was more than 5 stars if I could give it that. Roy and his crew were incredible. They were on time/early, communication was great, took a lot of time and care with our items, and just all around great to work with. "Frank and his crew on both sides of our move were extremely careful with our items. Although we have not completely unpacked our items were properly cared for. We have moved 6 times in the past 12 years and all but one were Allied. Frank and his crew were the best!"
"Honestly, I had an overall positive experience. I’d give 5-stars due to the ease of the in-home virtual walk-through allowing for my costs to be known upfront and remain the same throughout the process. Also, the actual movers themselves went above and beyond on the date of pick-up making the process seamless. I did have a fairly frustrating issue with the delivery process though which is why my final rating is 3-stars. My delivery date was moved up one day (despite what was listed in my contract) with little notice given. Seems minor, but that is a big change when coordinating an interstate move with an 8-9 hour drive time. A lot of my plans had to change last minute, but given the risk of penalties for not being able to meet the movers, we adjusted things, we “sucked it up,” and started our drive early. I called that same day to ask for an explanation, but received no response. The following day (after over half the drive was completed), we were informed the delivery date was changed back per the original agreement...yet we were the last to know. When asked if they could still make it to our apartment like we had last heard (Wednesday at 2 PM) we were told nope. Now, all the plans that were changed and the stress were for nothing, and we were going to arrive at our new apartment complex a day early and be without our stuff or a bed. We went out of our way to accommodate for their change, yet they couldn’t handle communication with us. We took a driving break, and I sent an email to our initial contact at the company about our frustration with the issue. Shortly after, we received a call from her boss saying the movers were re-routed to honor what we were last told. We tipped the movers extra for their troubles, but our movers had driven >200 miles extra to make it over to us with only a little bit of time left in their workday, so they were noticeably frustrated and exhausted. There was less care taken with our items given the haste that had to occur as well. At the end of the move, when they communicated back with their team, we overheard mention that “the clients changed their mind back and forth and refused to comply with the change of delivery day” causing them problems. No, the company’s less than ideal communication caused the difficulties, and we were unfairly made to seem like the problem. I understand COVID-19 had some impact on their business communications, but common sense dictates that you communicate significant delivery date/time changes with the client immediately."
