The Waynesburg Volunteer Fire Department, also known as the Waynesburg-Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Company, has a storied history rooted in community resilience and dedication. Established after a tragic fire on December 23, 1925, which claimed the lives of five individuals, the community realized the need for a formally organized fire service.
