Annual events at the park include the Slippery Banana Softball Tournament, the free summer Sunday American Music Festival (AMF) Concerts, and the Wild Rivers Music Festival. In December, the park hosts Nature's Coastal Holiday Light Show, a magical display of lights, sculptures, and music.
McVay Rock State Recreation Site
McVay Rock State Recreation Site is a hidden gem located on Oceanview Drive in Brookings, Oregon, United States. This park offers a variety of outdoor activities such as surf fishing, clamming, whale watching, and beach walks. The park features a large lawn with a nine-hole disc golf course that overlooks the ocean. Situated above the ocean, visitors can enjoy stunning views of the coastline and have close encounters with seabirds soaring above. A rocky path leads down to the beach, providing easy access to the shoreline. The park is currently in discussions with the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department and Curry County about the possibility of transferring management to the county.
