Bells Up Winery
Bells Up Winery, located at 27895 Northeast Bell Road in Newberg, Oregon, is a unique institution that combines elements of a food and liquor store with a tourist attraction. Visitors can book a private tasting experience with Winemaker Dave Specter, who guides them through a full-sensory journey of Bells Up's current wines. This experience is exclusively for one group at a time, providing an intimate and personalized setting. The story behind Bells Up Winery is one of following one's passion and finding happiness in life. After a successful but unfulfilling career as a corporate tax attorney, Dave Specter had a mental and physical breakdown that led him to question the meaning of success. With the support of his wife Sara, Dave turned his basement hobby of winemaking into a full-time pursuit, ultimately establishing Bells Up Winery in 2013.
Keizer Cultural Center
The Keizer Cultural Center, located at 980 Chemawa Road Northeast in Keizer, Oregon, is a hub for the cultural community of Keizer. The center includes the Keizer Heritage Museum, which features a beautifully restored model of the "Old Keizer Schoolhouse" thanks to the dedicated volunteer work of Beth Melendy. This model was used for fundraising efforts to save and restore the actual Keizer School, and now stands as a treasure for the community. Additionally, the Keizer Cultural Center is currently offering the opportunity to own a piece of history with the sale of 108-year-old solid wood doors from the center. Proceeds from the sale will benefit the Keizer Heritage Museum, which is run by the Keizer Heritage Foundation. The foundation is currently seeking 100 Keizer residents to make a one-time contribution to raise funds for repairs and maintenance of the Old Keizer School.
