"There's pros and cons here. So I'll start with the good things. The staff that I encountered here were very kind, compassionate and professional. Even as an adult, going to the dentist is terrifying but they went out of their way to try to put me at ease. Cons, though. My goodness, the cons! I made the initial appointment in September because of an abcessed tooth. The earliest opening they had was for 5 months later, in February. I just went in for that appointment and they took x rays, looked at the tooth and agreed that, yes, the tooth is bad and needs to be pulled. So they make another appointment in July for a consultation with the dentist who will actually pull the tooth. So there's another 5 months of waiting, and that's only for a consultation so someone else can say yes it's a rotten tooth and needs to go. If the current pattern holds, I'm expecting another 5 months of waiting after that to actually get in for the extraction - presumably up to 15 months of repeated rounds of antibiotics, periodically being in excruciating pain resulting in missed work when the rot causes an infection from which there is no relief until the antibiotics begin to take effect. Is it really necessary to have to wait for over a year to have a single tooth pulled? Might I make the suggestion that Advantage should either expand their business and get more dentists or perhaps don't take on so many patients that they are left to wait in pain for more than a year before getting much needed treatment."
