"I took my 15 month-old daughter into their office because I was concerned about discoloration on her teeth. They kept saying things like, "Oh, so you just want her to meet the dentist so she is comfortable for her first visit?" And I said no, I had serious concerns. The dentist barely looked in her mouth and told me to come back in a year. A few weeks after the visit her teeth began to develop holes where the discoloration had occurred. I scheduled an appointment with a pediatric dentist. Unlike Tender Care, their standard practice was to clean, examine, and apply fluoride varnish. My daughter had several cavities in her front teeth due to a lip-tie. These cavities might have been retarded by aggressive fluoride treatment before the caries formed. Now we face the possibility of getting her teeth capped and/or extracted under general anesthesia. I am really not one to complain on the internet, but I wrote Tender Care and spoke with the receptionist several times and never got a response regarding my experience. I believe that they should refer pediatric clients elsewhere if they are not willing to perform an actual exam."
