"My dog has been taking Phenobarbital everyday for years now due to his epilepsy, which in some cases caused multiple seizures a day. Our most recent bottle of the medication was running low, so we called our pharmacy and requested a refill. We were told to give it up to 48 hours for the refill, no problem, we have enough meds to last until then. We call back a while later and ask about the status of the refill & are told by the pharmacy that they have faxed the request to banfield twice and have still heard nothing back. At our request, they faxed it over a third time, and we called banfield. Banfield then informed us that the earliest they can refill the medication is Wednesday (we were having this conversation on a sunday) due to the fact that the ONLY doctor able to fill the prescription in the office was not scheduled until then. We ask what we are supposed to do in the meantime and why there is no other doctor on staff that can fill prescriptions, and simply got a "well unfortunately there is nothing we could do." Finally after requesting that the dr be contacted, we were called back and informed that she would be in the following day to fill the prescription. While i am glad that things were resolved, it is simply bad practice to have a single person capable of fulfilling such an important part of the job. This is far from the first time we have had issues with banfield, including a time where an IV was left in the arm of my fathers dog and was not found until he had gotten home."

"If I could give a negative 10 I would. If you value your pets well being, stay away from banfield. One time they left an IV in my dogs leg, I found when I got him home and took off the wrap. They never check their fax machine. Several, and I mean several times, have had to wait extra days for my dogs seizure medicine because they never saw it. They only have one dr who can prescribe the meds.,The wellness plan is a scam.. STAY AWAY FROM BANFIELD."
