Southgate School, located at 3057 Cleveland Avenue Southwest in Canton, Ohio, is a public separate educational facility offering School Age Services for students ages 6-21. The institution also has a satellite classroom at Avondale Elementary through Plain local schools. Southgate School meets all standards specified by the Ohio Department of Education, ensuring that all students progress through Ohio’s Academic Content Standards at their individualized pace. Students aged 6-12 are placed in academic class groupings for grades K-2 and 3-5, following curriculum maps with online resources, supplemental activities in reading and math, and themed scope and sequence topics. Students aged 12-15 are grouped in grades 6-8 classes with similar curriculum structures. All students complete alternate assessment testing to meet proficiency guidelines.
