Watch House & Circle Mound
β ClosedWatch House & Circle Mound is a unique tourist attraction located at 5200 Emerald Parkway in Dublin, Ohio, United States. Designed by artist Todd Slaughter, the institution offers a contemplative space for individuals and small groups to explore and appreciate. The artwork features a blacked-copper sphere rising from behind the rim of a 220β diameter circle mound, with a copper-skinned house bridging a gap in the mound. The design references a planetarium and a house bridging a prehistoric Indian mound, celebrating the history and future of Dublin. Visitors can walk up a ramp to enter the Watch House, where they will find a field of wild sunflowers and native plants within the circle mound. The terra cotta-colored walls and stone floor of the house create a space for seating, viewing, and listening in all directions. The windows offer views of the wooded stream to the north and the sunflower field to the south, providing a peaceful and immersive experience.
