This initiative was inspired by the vision of retired Marine Corps Col. Theodore Jenkins, with support from a committee of BGSU alumni, including retired Navy Capt. Dr. David Chilson and retired Army 1st Lt. David Ridenour. The Reiter family generously provided funding for the memorial, which serves as a lasting tribute to the sacrifices made by veterans. The memorial also includes chairs to honor prisoners of war and those declared missing in action.
