The Messiah Community is a charming two-story apartment complex located at 848 East Court Street in Urbana, Ohio. This community is specifically designed for individuals aged 62 and older and/or with mobility impairments and lower incomes. With thirty-six studio and one-bedroom apartments available, rent is determined based on guidelines set by the Department of Housing and Urban Development, taking into account income level, age, and disability. Eligible residents only pay 30% of their adjusted gross income towards rent and select utilities. Each apartment at the Messiah Community is well-maintained and comes equipped with appliances, carpeting, and all utilities included, except for cable TV, Internet, and phone services. In addition to comfortable living spaces, residents also benefit from the services of a dedicated Service Coordinator. This coordinator offers referrals, connects residents with resources for aging and healthcare services in the surrounding community, provides education on health and wellness, and helps residents get involved in volunteer opportunities and community engagement activities.
