“First visit. Very nice Italian restaurant with good menu choice. I had the linguine alla Parma (with mussels, squid and prawns), absolutely delicious. Followed by tiramisu made on the premises, again absolutely delicious. Would definitely recommend. Very reasonably priced for a city centre restaurant.”

“My partner and I went here for lunch after a stressful morning and decided to go for the 3 courses. It did not disappoint at all. First of all, it's a nice clean restaurant. The staff are lovely and make you feel welcome as soon as you come through the door. We were a little late for our booking but they didn't mind. It had a real decent list of drinks, especially wines, but we decided to go with a craft ale. We recieved an amazing amusebouche (complimentary pre-starter) and freshly baked bread whilst we waited for our starters. It wasn't too long before the starters arrived. All the food was great, we had a cheese board to share which they kindly brought out to us on separate plates. We decided to have a coffee to top it off at the end, which came with delightful little chocolates. The service was brilliant. Our waiter Richard was polite and attentive and explained what was in each dish with a lot of detail. A true fine dining experience. Thanks to Richard and the team! Can't wait to go back”

“We had a lovely meal at Mariners on a cold February evening. Despite it's age the boat come restaurant was warm and cosy. The menu was small and concise and everything we ate hit the spot. The grilled sardines and the pork belly were particular highlights.”

“A great place with an incredibly friendly welcome and very personable staff. The atmosphere is chic and warm, the building a network of little rooms and flights of stairs (the toilets are up stairs and a little inaccessible for people with mobility issues). The menu is wide ranging and very reasonably priced and tastes amazing. The place was very well used by locals even on a Tuesday night, which in itself is a good review. We booked ahead and this was a good idea. Thoroughly to be recommended.”

“Great food and a lovely place to eat. Everyone enjoyed their meals ... and we aren't easy to please. Decor is very good. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Would recommend the lava stone steak... you can cook it to your own liking yourself at the table... Great idea! If there was only one slight negative.... and I do mean slight... it would be nice to see better quality dinner mints at the table with the bill. That being said it was all in all fantastic.... Will be returning.”

“We had a good discussion about awarding 4 or 5 stars, but after not being able to put a finger on what would need to be majorly different and after receiving a reasonably acceptable bill, we have gone for 5 stars. Read on: We walked in with no reservation on a busy, hot Sunday morning and were promptly seated. Staff were really pleasant and friendly and the outside decked area seats you directly on the edge of the water, this is a really beautifully located restaurant and is also set up well for wheel chair access. We had pancakes and eggs benedict, couldn't really fault it, plus service was quick and the food was priced well. I would probably switch the Parma ham for bacon if i went again. Minors: the ladies toilets were without toilet roll and the male toilets had toilet roll weirdly stuffed into the door handle. We think keeping on top of your facilities is an important part of the overall experience. A good morning breakfast in a nice location. A friend comments 'it was pleasant and the staff were nice'”

“This was brilliant! If you want good portions of well cooked and tasty food this is the place to come. You can get a la carte or opt for the 3 course deal which we had. Just brilliant. Really friendly staff who accommodated our Christmas meal we only just got round to doing in March with crackers sprinkles of glitter and a smile. Warmly recommend.”

“Our favourite restaurant. We have used many vouchers for meals, so it's affordable and have come back most weeks. Food is always delicious. We usually have a starter and main. Garlic bread to start to share. Glass of wine is normal price. Main course I have had many, calzone, pizza, spaghetti with prawns and macaroni cheese.”
