PhD Swim School, located at 2105 North Carolina 54 in Durham, North Carolina, is a health-focused institution offering swim classes for children aged crawling through 8 years old who cannot swim and float independently. The classes at PhD Swim School are designed to build on previous survival skills, with maintenance classes focusing on age-appropriate motor coordination. Students are required to take a Swim Assessment to determine the correct class type for their skill level. The survival program at PhD Swim School teaches students how to save themselves in aquatic accidents with confidence, while the maintenance program helps students swim faster and more competently than any other swim school in the area. Before enrolling in weekly classes, students must either complete the Survival program or demonstrate their ability to attain and maintain survival skills such as back float, rolling from front to back, and swimming with their face in the water.
