The Center for Middle East and Islamic Studies, located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, is dedicated to understanding the Middle East through teaching, research, and community outreach. Our center takes a cross-regional approach to Middle East studies, breaking down area studies barriers to track global flows of ideas, commodities, and people. As part of the North Carolina Consortium for Middle East Studies, a collaboration between Duke University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, we offer opportunities for students to engage with leading scholars in the field through lecture series and classroom visits.
