Student fitness initiatives in Raleigh, North Carolina

The Lowery Fitness Center, located at 3800 Hillsborough Street in Raleigh, North Carolina, is a state-of-the-art gym and health facility open to the campus community. Equipped with a variety of cardio machines, power lifting racks, free weights, resistance machines, and other accessories, the center caters to a wide range of fitness needs. Operated under the Department of Nutrition, Health and Human Performance, the center serves as a research and teaching laboratory for the Health, Exercise, and Sport Sciences program. In addition to serving as a teaching facility for health and physical learning courses, the Lowery Fitness Center also supports the Athletic department's strength and conditioning program and health and wellness initiatives such as the WOW! Employee Wellness program and Angels in Motion (AIM) group fitness classes. The center is open throughout the week with priority scheduling for academic courses and Athletics.

The Wellness and Recreation Center and Carmichael Gym, located at 2611 Cates Avenue in Raleigh, North Carolina, offer a vast 430,000-square-feet of recreation, fitness, and wellness spaces. The institution provides a variety of resources and programs to help students and members recharge and de-stress during De-Stress Fest. With the Wellness and Recreation App, users can easily access facility hours, program registration, and even check how busy different spaces are before visiting. Fitness Basics orientations are available at no cost to help individuals familiarize themselves with the equipment and programs available. The institution is dedicated to providing inclusive and innovative programs and services to the Wolfpack community, aiming to enhance student success and well-being. Students can also benefit from time management and meal planning tips to optimize productivity and fuel their day. Additionally, students can participate in the annual t-shirt quest, a fun tradition at the institution.

The Willis R. Casey Aquatic Center is a part of the Wellness and Recreation Center located at 2611 Cates Avenue in Raleigh, North Carolina. This center, along with Carmichael Gym, offers 430,000 square feet of recreational, fitness, and wellness spaces for the Wolfpack community to enjoy. During De-Stress Fest, from April 23 to May 1, students can take a break from their studies and recharge at the Aquatic Center. The Wellness and Recreation App provides all the information needed, including facility hours, live visitor counts, digital barcode ID for access, and program registration.

Tabernacle Learning Center for Preschoolers is a Christian-based school located at 8304 Leesville Road in Raleigh, North Carolina. Our school believes in providing a child-initiated, play-based learning environment to help children develop and grow. Children aged two to five years old are welcome to join us for two, three, or five days a week from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. At TLC, children are introduced to Christian stories, beliefs, and activities to help them learn about God’s world. They also have the opportunity to explore their own world, learn how things work, and discover where they fit in. Our small class sizes allow us to focus on the individual developmental needs of each child.
