Nestled in the heart of our community, McNeil Barn invites you to step back in time and experience the warmth and simplicity of early 19th-century life. Built in the early 1820s, the McNeill Homestead is a beautifully restored home that offers a fascinating glimpse into the past. Visitors can explore the main floor, which features a traditional rope bed, and two smaller rooms, as well as a cozy loft where children once slept. Immerse yourself in history as you admire the authentic decor and artifacts from the era, including a spinning wheel, a corn sheller, and period linens. Each piece tells a story of life in the 1800s and adds to the home's unique charm. The McNeill Homestead was generously donated to the Historic Properties Commission by the late Alton Gibson J. Marion McNeill in 1976, ensuring its preservation for future generations to enjoy.
