Baldwin Auditorium
β OpenBaldwin Auditorium, located at 1336 Campus Drive in Durham, North Carolina, is a historic institution on Duke University's East Campus. Designed by renowned African American architect Julian F. Abele and opened in 1927, Baldwin Auditorium recently underwent a $15 million renovation to become one of the premier small venues for classical music in the Southeast. With a seating capacity of 685, Baldwin Auditorium features modern seating in the orchestra and wraparound balcony, as well as wheelchair seating on both levels. The classic Georgian building is constructed of Baltimore red pressed brick and Vermont marble, topped with Buckingham slate, and boasts a dome and oculus visible from the opposite end of East Campus.
