Our museum celebrates the vibrant historical and cultural tapestry of Scotland County and its neighboring areas. Anchored by the iconic John Blue House, a rare example of Steamboat Gothic architecture, the center invites you to explore a captivating journey through time. The centerpiece of our heritage center, the John Blue House, stands as a testament to the architectural beauty of the past. Although currently undergoing structural repairs, the house remains a stunning landmark, and our grounds and museums are open to the public. Nestled amidst a serene grove of pecan trees, the Heritage Village offers you a unique opportunity to step back into the rural Carolinas of the late 1800s. This charming village features reassembled homesteads, a barn, a cotton gin, and even its own general store, providing a vivid glimpse into the past.

Welcome to the Jones-Lynch Homestead, a historic treasure nestled in the heart of Laurinburg, North Carolina. This remarkable homestead, believed to be of Quaker origin, showcases exceptional craftsmanship that reflects the rich cultural heritage of the region. Built between 1790 and 1810 by Silas Jones in what was once Rockdale, now part of Richmond County, the homestead stands as a testament to the skilled artisanship of its time. One of the unique features of the Jones-Lynch Homestead is its innovative log construction. The logs are meticulously fitted closer together in the loft area, eliminating the need for additional paneling and exemplifying the ingenuity of Quaker craftsmanship. This architectural detail not only highlights the resourcefulness of early settlers but also adds to the rustic charm of the homestead.
