Welcome to the Tobacco Barn at the John Blue House and Heritage Center, a captivating glimpse into North Carolina's rich agricultural history. Nestled in Laurinburg, this remarkable 100-year-old log tobacco barn is a rare treasure, one of only four in the state open for public viewing. Originally hailing from Robeson County, the barn was generously donated to preserve its legacy and was meticulously disassembled and restored on the John Blue grounds. This historic structure stands out with its impressive dimensions of 23 feet by 23 feet, making it larger than most tobacco barns of its era. The barn features two original brick furnaces, which were once fueled by wood before transitioning to oil burners in the 1950s. Forensic architects have carefully studied the barn's construction, noting the unique materials and nails that affirm its century-old heritage.
