Founded in 1989, our institution is a North Carolina Non-Profit Educational organization dedicated to teaching traditional Aikido as passed down from the Founder, Morihei Ueshiba. Our Chief Instructor, Jonathan Weiner Sensei, 5th Dan, Shidoin, continues the legacy of our Founding Instructor, Dennis Main Sensei, 6th Dan, Shihan. We offer daily Aikido classes, Self Defense workshops, and Defensive Tactics training for Law Enforcement. As part of the United States Aikido Federation (USAF), we uphold rigorous technical standards and promote the practice of Aikido through various activities, seminars, and demonstrations. Weiner Sensei, with over 25 years of experience, oversees rank promotion and testing, teaches seminars regionally, and conducts Self Defense Workshops for corporations and organizations. We are a martial arts school that specializes in the traditional Japanese martial art of Aikido. Visitors are always welcome to watch or participate in our classes, so feel free to come by and see what we're all about. If you decide to join in, please wear loose-fitting, comfortable clothing. Our class times are on Monday and Wednesday at 7:30 PM, and Saturday at 12:00 PM for aiki weapons training.
