Fishkill Ridge Trail
Fishkill Ridge Trail is a park and tourist attraction located at 32 Sunnyside Road in Beacon, New York, United States. Spanning over 1,011 acres in Dutchess County, this wilderness area offers a rugged yet well-marked trail system that leads visitors to impressive waterfalls, rock outcroppings with stunning vistas, and a glimpse of the Manhattan skyline. The geological features of the ridge, shaped by glaciers 12,000 years ago, provide a unique opportunity to explore the Hudson Valley's past. Owned by the NYS Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, Fishkill Ridge Trail is maintained by the NY-NJ Trail Conference. Visitors may also encounter wildlife such as turkey vultures, bald eagles, and falcons during their hike. After exploring the trails, visitors can enjoy the shops and eateries along Beacon's Main Street or visit Dia:Beacon, a renowned museum showcasing late-20th-century art.
First Congregational Church of Riverhead
Welcome to the First Congregational Church of Riverhead, a vibrant and welcoming place of worship located at 103 1st Street, Riverhead, New York. As a cornerstone of the community, our church is dedicated to spiritual growth, community service, and fostering a sense of belonging for all who enter our doors. Our Bread and More Soup Kitchen continues to be a beacon of hope, offering free to-go meals every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 5:30 to 6:15 PM. We believe in the power of service and community support, which is why we are also collecting school supplies through the last Sunday of August. Donations can be dropped off at the church office, our Thrift Shop, or in the sanctuary on Sunday mornings. Monetary donations are also welcome, and our dedicated volunteers are ready to do the shopping on your behalf.
