"I am deeply infuriated and utterly disgusted by the abhorrent level of care my Son received at this ER. After enduring a harrowing fall down a treacherous flight of stairs, my Son was left neglected in his room for an inexcusable three hours, despite having distressing wounds that required immediate attention. To add insult to injury, my son has been suffering from relentless nausea as a result of a broken nose, with blood relentlessly trickling down their throat. The nurse's callous response of "aww you poor thing" only further fueled my anger and disappointment. What's even more outrageous is the fact that my son’s excruciating pain from broken bones and open wounds was met with nothing more than a mere dose of Motrin. Anyone with an ounce of common sense understands that Motrin can increase bleeding time, a terrifying prospect given the open wounds and broken nose that continue to bleed profusely. If this ER is truly too overwhelmed to provide even the most basic level of comfort and care to patients, then I must express my utmost disdain for this establishment. The lack of compassion, attention, and appropriate treatment exhibited here is beyond reproach and raises grave concerns about the competency and integrity of the entire medical staff."

"Was there for 12 hrs today 6 in waiting room 6 in room in so much pain 11 never seen a doctor never got treated ended up leaving after no service no doctor no medication went home in agony. If you can't accommodate the city of Oswego close your doors.its nice that management has posted they need more info really nice for you to answer your phone not like I said close your doors"

"My PCP thought I was having a gallbladder issue. I drove myself to the emergency department last spring. Sadly, I had a botched hip replacement at Sos in Syracuse and I can’t sit down. There’s no trajectory that I will ever be able to sit down longer than for 20 minutes at a time. I either have to lie down or stand up. For better or for worse I am a part of the community and my PCP wanted me to go to the emergency room. I told them I can’t sit down and wait. And the girl told me again go take a seat. I said I have a bad hip and I can’t sit and she said well you’ll just have to go sit down. I said I can’t. And then I said, I’ll just have to go to another emergency room. And she said well we don’t want you to go. And again I said I can’t sit down. I said I could sit down for maybe 20 minutes and stand up in another 20 minutes, but the wait was six hours. The receptionist looked at me again and said take a seat. I said you didn’t hear me. I can’t sit down for more than 20 minutes or so at a time because I have a botched hip replacement. The emergency room waiting area was full of people many of them coughing. There was absolutely no attempt to separate people with clearly contagious diseases from people that weren’t contagious. There was an overflow of people outside many of them smoking, so you didn’t even want to walk in the door. There was no visible air filtration. Air filtration in the HVAC system unless it was completely updated With more powerful motors to increase the air refresh rate during Covid which I’m 99% sure it wasn’t, as that would cost millions, is not enough to clean the air. One of the best ways to prevent contagious diseases from spreading is excellent air filtration. They could have extra free standing filtration in such a tiny area esp to keep staff healthy. People were sick and coughing were sitting right next to people that weren’t contagiously sick. It was the most pathetic excuse in the post pandemic era when one had hoped to NOT pass the Aerosolized germs From coughing and sneezing whether it be from a cold, RSV, flu, or Covid. After all, they’re probably going to claim shortage of healthcare for the inability to serve the public, but sitting in the waiting room will cause you to get sicker and need even more healthcare than when you walked in. The waiting room did not appear clean. There were pieces of garbage on the floor, and God knows how dirty the seats were. I just turned around and walked out, gallbladder be damned in that moment. Received prompt enough care at another clean facility. Oswego Hospital – could you please at least clean the waiting room in the emergency Dept? There’s got to be someway to separate the people coughing from the people who have noncontagious problems. There’s just got to be a way that you don’t get sicker for going to the emergency room. Oswego county doesn’t have enough ambulance capacity as it is when there’s an upper respiratory spike. Don’t make people in the community sicker."

"My experience at the hospital was amazing from start to finish. My daughter had to go the surgery center for a 1 day surgery. She is also a teenager and you know how teenagers can be. They called us in the morning because they had a cancellation, so we got in even earlier so that was nice. Everyone was super patient and polite from start to finish. The nurses and Dr.Strain explained everything to us from start to finish, they made sure me and my daughter was completely comfortable and we knew exactly what they we’re doing. Every time someone came into the room they introduced them selves and explained what they were doing and why. I barely had any questions to ask, everything was answered. Just want to say Thank you to the staff at the surgery center and the nurses and Dr.Strain. I have also visit the emergency room on more than one occasion for my self, daughter, mom and grandmother and never had a problem. The staff were professional, nice and the wait wasn’t that long. I have also visited the hospital for other doctors appts, such as blood work and for X-rays and never had any issues."
