New York & Atlantic Railway (NYA) is a local government office located at 145 Pine Aire Drive, Bay Shore, New York, United States. Established in May 1997, NYA operates freight trains on lines owned by the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR). Serving a diverse customer base, NYA shares tracks with the busiest passenger system in the United States. The railway plays a crucial role in removing over 120,000 heavy truck trips from the roads of metro NYC and reducing transportation emissions by 75%. NYA connects with various other railroads such as BRT, CP, CSX, NS, NYNJ, and P&W. Providing direct rail car service to local industries and third-party logistics providers, NYA serves the metropolitan area of Brooklyn, Queens, Nassau, and Suffolk counties with a combined population of over 7.5 million.
