Seneca Park
● ClosedSeneca Park, located in Rochester, New York, is a 297-acre park designed by Frederick Law Olmsted. This beautiful park offers a variety of natural elements and recreational areas for visitors to enjoy. With three picnic shelters, the Wegman Lodge, playgrounds, hiking trails, open fields, and a large pond with a paved walking path, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Visitors can also take in scenic views of the Genesee River gorge. Originally known as North Park, Seneca Park was renamed to reflect its meaning of "stone." The park features Trout Lake, created by damming a natural spring, and once offered swan boat rides around the lake until 1922. The park is home to one bathroom facility available between May 1st and October 15th, located near the Longhouse Shelter.
